This role focuses on supporting customers in effectively using telematics systems for construction and mining equipment sold by the company. The Telematics Specialist will ensure optimal deployment and utilization of these systems, manage telematics subscriptions, and help customers analyze data to maximize their equipment performance and efficiency.


  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telematics systems across various types of construction and mining equipment.
  • Monitor real-time data and analytics to ensure optimal performance and utilization of equipment.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance and resolve issues related to telematics hardware, software, and subscription services.
  • Proactively manage and oversee the entire subscription lifecycle for telematics services, including procurement, setup, renewal, and upgrades, ensuring seamless service continuity.
  • Collaborate with internal and external personnel to enhance machine efficiency and safety.
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff and customers on the use of telematics systems, focusing on maximizing benefits from subscription features.
  • Generate regular reports on equipment status, performance metrics, subscription utilization, and other key data points.
  • Work closely with IT and development teams to enhance telematics applications, integrate new technologies, and ensure effective subscription management.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies regarding data security, equipment management, and subscription services.

  • Willingness to travel as required.


  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field is a plus.


  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal communication with customers and team members.
  • Facilitate effective training sessions and presentations.
  • Respond promptly and clearly to customer inquiries and concerns.


  • Proficient with computer systems, including database management and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize new software systems and tools related to telematics and equipment diagnostics.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and software, capable of interpreting and presenting data in a meaningful way.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, software troubleshooting, and hardware configuration basics.


  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Analytical thinking skills to assess complex situations and apply problem-solving strategies effectively.
  • Ability to make sound decisions quickly in response to changing conditions in the field.


  • Capable of performing field work that may involve physical exertion, including lifting equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various outdoor environments and weather conditions as travel to customer sites is required.
  • Must be able to safely use and maneuver ladders and other access equipment when needed.
