We spark ideas that lead to positive impact and continued success.If you want to be part of this important mission, we want to hear from you. Conduct data analysis, data profiling, and data extraction from disparate sources (relational and non-relational databases and flat files)Design, develop, analyze, and automate reporting solutionsExtract and prepare large quantities of data from source systemsDevelop reports that support analysis and key business decisions on an ad-hoc and scheduled basisCommunicate effectively and proactively with internal stakeholders to ensure information is presented logically and consistentlyLead meetings and provide consultation to users for the development of reports and also systems impacting the data outputLead cross-functional meetings to address business concerns and data quality issues as neededWork with the BI and Data teams to set data requirements and achieve defined goalsSupport ad-hoc reporting and analytics request with an eye for creating scalable self-service or automated solutionsWork with different teams like Engineering, HR, Finance, Sales and Service to provide Analytics Solution. The responsibilities will include understanding business processes, understanding the software systems for retrieval, prepping and modeling data for supporting reports and Dashboards.The work will also involve managing analytics projects. The work is hands on technical work. The candidate will analyze and propose solutions based on the platforms available at Varian.The work will also involve process re-engineering to improve efficiency of business processes. The candidate will be interacting with teams and users worldwide May work in conjunction with outsourcing functions. May work on department or cross-department teams. Adheres to company policies and IT governance processes. These may include SOX procedures, FDA procedures, IT security and project management processes.Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in utilizing one or more modern analytics tools such as Qlik, Salesforce Einstein Analytics, Power BI, Tableau etc. Experience in scripting with SQL or Python, extracting large sets of data, and design of ETL flows. Experience working with Data Engineering teams. Experience with Snowflake and HVR is a plusExperience with process modeling tools like ARISKnowledge of cloud tools like Salesforce, AWS, Snowflake is plus. Ability to operate as the point of contact for the business partner. Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-trainingAbility to work in diverse, fast paced environment and effectively collaborate across teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong collaboration skills to work with others towards the same outcome and drive results. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.Typical Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience) and/or 1-2 years of related experience or Masters Degree with no or little experience.Varian is required to comply with all local and applicable regulations that may be associated with vaccine requirements for certain roles.Fighting cancer calls for big ideas.We envision a world without fear of cancer.
