Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Data Engineering & Data Products to lead the design, scale, and modernization of our enterprise data platform. This leader will drive data architecture and engineering strategy, enable AI-driven innovation, and lead a high-performing data engineering team supporting mission-critical, high-volume workloads.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with leadership and execution skills and can translate business, product, and AI requirements into scalable and reliable data capabilities.

Must-Have Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, distributed systems, platform engineering, or related areas.
• 5+ years of experience in technical leadership or leading data engineering teams.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms, distributed processing, data warehousing, orchestration, and streaming systems.
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehouses.
• Experience with microservices, containerization, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Proven experience building and scaling large-scale, high-velocity data systems.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong product and business acumen, with the ability to translate data and AI capabilities into meaningful customer and business value.

Job Responsibilities:
• Define and execute the data platform and data engineering roadmap in alignment with product, AI, and business objectives.
• Lead the architecture, modernization, and evolution of scalable data lake, lakehouse, and warehouse ecosystems across cloud environments.
• Oversee the design and optimization of real-time and batch data pipelines, ensuring high availability, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Establish and improve DataOps practices, including observability, automation, monitoring, and data quality standards.
• Drive the implementation of enterprise-grade data governance, security, compliance, and access controls.
• Enable scalable ML data pipelines, feature stores, and near real-time analytics capabilities in partnership with AI/ML teams.
• Lead, mentor, and grow the data engineering team, establishing strong engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
• Partner closely with Product, AI/ML, Security, Infrastructure, and other engineering teams to deliver data-driven products and innovation.
• Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions and contribute to the prioritization of the data platform roadmap.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications:
• Exposure to GenAI and LLM architectures, including RAG pipelines, prompt orchestration, and vector databases.
• Experience supporting or operationalizing MLOps capabilities, such as model deployment, monitoring, drift detection, or experimentation.
• Proven experience delivering data or AI capabilities that have contributed to customer value, revenue, retention, or product growth.
• Experience working in a fast-paced SaaS or high-growth technology environment.
