Front-End React/TypeScript Developer

Location: McLean, VA (Onsite) Position Type: Contract (W2 upon Offer) Duration: 08/03/2026 – 12/31/2026

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Front-End React/TypeScript Developer to build modern, scalable, and high-performance web applications for a leading financial services client. In this role, you will design and develop intuitive user interfaces that integrate seamlessly with Spring Boot backend services, enabling financial analysts and quantitative teams to efficiently model and analyze complex securities. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in React, TypeScript, modern JavaScript, state management, API integration, automated testing, and Agile software development. Experience within financial services, capital markets, or fintech environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain responsive, scalable, and high-performance web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Build reusable UI components and implement modern front-end architecture following industry best practices.
• Integrate front-end applications with Spring Boot REST APIs and backend services.
• Develop interactive dashboards and visualization components for financial modeling and analytics.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
Software Engineering & Quality
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
• Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests using Jest and React Testing Library.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Identify and eliminate technical debt while continuously improving application performance and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective long-term solutions.
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, quantitative analysts, UX designers, backend developers, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end software solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and implementation guides.
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise with: React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience building reusable component-based architectures.
• Strong knowledge of modern state management libraries such as Redux, React Query, Zustand.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs with front-end applications.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Pull Requests (PRs), branching strategies, code reviews.
• Experience writing automated tests using Jest, React Testing Library.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and front-end performance optimization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing or integrating with Spring Boot backend applications.
• Knowledge of relational databases and advanced SQL queries.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• Experience working with cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with Agile project management tools such as Jira.
• Experience with shell scripting for automation and deployment support.
• Previous experience in Financial Services, Capital Markets, Mortgage, or FinTech environments.
• Knowledge of fixed-income financial products and concepts, including Duration, Convexity, Credit Spread, Option-Adjusted Spread (OAS), Fixed-Income Derivatives.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field is preferred.
