About the JobThis role is in the Taxation Shared Services function of an international engineering & design consultancy company. The shared services team is co-located with several hundred fee-earning staff in a professional business environment. This new position is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to make a positive impact on an interesting and rapidly growing business.Task listSupport the tax reporting team with routine tasks including month-end & quarter-end roll forward proceduresPeriodic refresh/update of data sources during ongoing tax reporting cyclesInvestigate and correct discrepancies/irregularities in workbooks and reportsPeriodic refresh and update of FCCS/Oracle financial statementsMonitor reporting timeline of deliverables; advise team of status and seek clarification where applicable.Assist with information requests from other teams within the tax groupSupport on other ad hoc projects as requiredAdditional responsibilities (depending on the knowledge & experience of the candidate):Researching on topics related to taxPreparing technical documentation to support the tax reporting positionsDrive continuous improvement through the adoption of automation tools and streamlined processes and templatesSecondary point-of-contact for queries relating to documents, files and status updatesCandidate must have-Basic understanding of AccountingWorking knowledge of Excel and MS Office toolsWorks with minimal supervisionManages own time effectivelyMaintains control over all current projects/responsibilitiesProactive in identifying and communicating any issuesGeneral understanding of taxation matters would be an assetKnowledge of Financial Reporting is an assetKnowledge of ERP systems is an assetMust have cleared CA (Intermediate) level1-2 years of experience in a tax firm in IndiaThe Individual/ Behavioural CompetenciesSound analytical skillsGood Attention to detailOrganised – they must be able to work in a structured way demonstrating an audit trailAbility to work on own initiativeAbility to work to deadlines and take responsibility -Team Player – as a small team it will be necessary to cover colleagues’ workloadAble to demonstrate the Core Values -setting an example to others by showing respect and courtesy always, being open and honest, innovative, and flexibleWhat do we offer at Atkins?
