Role Description The Mechanical Design and Development Engineer will work on-site at the MLS Group facility in Kolkata in a full-time capacity. The role involves designing mechanical components and assemblies, developing product concepts, and creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs, select materials, and ensure manufacturability and compliance with standards. Daily responsibilities include supporting research and development activities, preparing technical documentation, coordinating with vendors or internal manufacturing teams, and participating in design reviews. The role also requires involvement in testing and validation of prototypes, analyzing performance data, and implementing design improvements based on test results and feedback.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and practical understanding of mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in Machine Design, including stress analysis, material selection, and design for manufacturability.
- Experience in Product Design, covering concept development, 3D modeling, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Ability to conduct Testing and validation of mechanical components and prototypes, with data-driven problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to Research and Development (R&D), including experimentation, innovation, and design iteration.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with CAD software and basic simulation/analysis tools.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Organized, detail-oriented approach to documentation, design compliance, and quality standards.
- Prior experience in industrial, manufacturing, or product development environments is an advantage.
