Senior Network Engineer with Security Clearance

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to help design, build, test, optimize, deploy and supporting an innovative network that provides resilient global communications for DoD assets operating in contested environments. This role demands a deep understanding of network management, cybersecurity, server administration, military networks, radios and geospatial information systems (GIS). Key Responsibilities: Network Management and Optimization:
– Design, configure, and optimize network performance to ensure efficient bandwidth usage and minimal latency.
– Monitor network performance using advanced tools to ensure reliability, operational readiness, and quick identification/resolution of issues.
– Implement advanced network configurations, including VLANs, VPNs, and QoS to optimize network traffic. Cybersecurity:
– Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies to protect network infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
– Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption protocols. Server Administration:
– Set up, configure, and maintain servers, including Linux and Windows environments, ensuring secure and efficient operations. Geospatial Information Systems (GIS):
-Integrate GIS concepts and tools for enhanced situational awareness and mapping, supporting operational decision-making. Knowledge of TAK Server is desired.
– Perform spatial analysis and ensure accurate data representation for various projects and missions. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
– Diagnose and troubleshoot complex network and server issues promptly, minimizing downtime and maintaining operational readiness.
– Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the continued health and performance of network and server systems. Interoperability and Integration:
– Integrate network and server systems with other operational tools and applications, ensuring seamless interoperability.
– Manage data interchange between systems to support comprehensive situational awareness and operational effectiveness. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering and server administration, preferably within the defense or aerospace sectors. In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, etc.) and experience with advanced network management tools. Extensive experience with cybersecurity measures, including threat detection, prevention, and mitigation strategies. Strong background in GIS concepts and tools, with the ability to perform spatial analysis and data integration. Proficiency in Linux and Windows server administration, including experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one, as the position requires handling classified and sensitive defense data.
