Senior Software Engineers I

The Senior Software Engineer I will write and review software code to support our CRM software solutions. Specific job duties will include: 1) Write micro-services, primarily with Java (our APIs are RESTful and use the minimal Dropwizard framework); 2) Help build out our web analytics pipeline utilizing software programs including MySQL, HBase, Elasticsearch, and Kafka; 3) Design decisions with reliability, maintainability, usability, readability, performance, and scalability of the overall solution in mind; 4) Mentor junior engineers and assist them in growing their engineering skills. Help verify the correctness of their work, as well as educate them on any gaps in their knowledge; 5) Provide technical leadership and direction for team projects; 6) Participate in code reviews; 7) Carry out system testing and debugging; and 8) Perform pager duty (on call rotations for operational support). Education and Experience Requirements: Employer requires a bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field and three (3) years of work experience as a Software Engineer or similar occupation. In addition, employer requires: 1. Demonstrated ability utilizing Java or a similar programming language gained through three (3) years of work experience; 2. Demonstrated ability building scalable enterprise-level Java applications in a production environment gained through three (3) years of work experience; 3. Demonstrated ability utilizing MySQL or similar tools to perform relational database management gained through three (3) years of work experience; 4. Demonstrated ability building and debugging asynchronous systems gained through three (3) years of work experience; and 5. Demonstrated ability releasing customer facing products gained through three (3) years of work experience. All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
