This role is ideal for someone who can combine hands-on development expertise with technical leadership, driving the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance applications.As a senior member of the team, you will play a critical role in architecting systems, mentoring engineers, improving engineering practices, and ensuring successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & ArchitectureLead the design and architecture of scalable, distributed full-stack applicationsDefine and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and coding guidelinesMake key technology and design decisions aligned with long-term product visionEnsure system performance, scalability, reliability, and securityBackend DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot.Build robust APIs, microservices, and distributed systems that support enterprise-scale applications.Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Solr for efficient data management and search capabilities.Collaborate with frontend engineers and contribute to UI development when required.Drive backend performance, reliability, scalability, and security initiatives across the platform.Delivery ExcellenceDrive end-to-end feature delivery from design to productionOwn and improve CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and deployment strategiesActively participate in and lead production deployments and issue resolutionEnsure observability through logging, monitoring, and performance trackingCode Quality & ReviewsConduct thorough code reviews to maintain high standards of quality and maintainabilityPromote best practices such as clean code, testing strategies, and design patternsIdentify and address technical debt proactivelyCollaboration & DocumentationCollaborate with Product Managers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholdersTranslate functional requirements into technical designs and architecture documentsCreate and maintain clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooksMentorship & Team DevelopmentMentor and guide engineers across different experience levelsFoster a collaborative, learning-driven, and high-performance engineering cultureSupport hiring, onboarding, and skill development within the teamInnovation & Continuous ImprovementEvaluate and adopt new technologies, tools, and AI-driven development approachesContinuously improve engineering efficiency, developer productivity, and system qualityQualifications9+ years of experience in full stack software engineeringStrong expertise in: Java, Spring Boot React, Redux (Reactive Web Applications)Deep understanding of system design, architecture, and distributed systemsExperience with workflow engines (Temporal)Knowledge of rules engines (Drools, GoRules)Extensive experience with databases: PostgreSQL (SQL) Redis, Solr (NoSQL / search systems)Strong experience with: Git and CI/CD pipelines Deployment strategies and release managementSolid understanding of AWS and cloud-native architectureExcellent analytical problem-solving skillsStrong communication and stakeholder management abilitiesProven ability to work effectively as a team player and technical leader Good to HaveExposure to microservices and event-driven architecturesFamiliarity with AI-assisted or AI-driven software development practicesExperience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)What We’re Looking ForA hands-on technical leader who can code, design, and guideSomeone who takes ownership and accountability for systems and outcomesA proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindsetA strong collaborator who can influence across teamsEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
