📝 Rquirements:
– We require a bachelors degree in information technology, cybersecurity, systems engineering, computer science, or a closely related discipline.
– We are seeking someone with 10+ years of IT-related experience, including at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role and 3 years of direct cybersecurity, program protection, or acquisition security experience.
– An active Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire.
– You should have proven experience supporting DoD or DHS acquisition programs and integrating cybersecurity and program protection into the acquisition lifecycle.
– We need working knowledge of Program Protection Plans (PPPs), Critical Program Information (CPI) analysis, Criticality Analysis (CA), and related program protection methodologies.
– You must be able to identify and evaluate adversary threats, vulnerabilities, and lifecycle risk to acquisition programs.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to prepare technical reports and brief senior government officials.
– A masters degree is preferred.
– Prior USCG or DHS acquisition support experience is preferred.
– Familiarity with USCG acquisition policies and processes, such as ACSP, PPP, and RAR, is preferred.
– Experience with Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) and Trusted Systems and Networks (TSN) concepts is preferred.
– Experience supporting acquisition cybersecurity mandates at DHS, USCG, DoD, or other federal civilian agencies is preferred.
👩💻👨💻 Your responsibilities are:
– We integrate cybersecurity and program protection into Coast Guard acquisition policies and lifecycle processes.
– We define stakeholder objectives, needs, concerns, security requirements, and validation approaches.
– We establish system security requirements, verification methods, and architecture and design security views.
– We assess vulnerabilities, susceptibilities, hazards, threats, and lifecycle disruptions across acquisition programs.
– We develop and maintain cybersecurity and program protection guides, as well as acquisition document templates.
– We build processes for Critical Program Information (CPI) analysis and Criticality Analysis (CA) to identify CPI, Critical Functions (CF), Critical Components (CC), and support Program Protection Plans (PPPs).
– We provide security input to systems engineering efforts to reduce flaws, weaknesses, and other vulnerabilities.
– We evaluate the costs and benefits of security functions to support trade-off analysis, alternatives analysis, and risk management.
– We demonstrate, using evidence-based reasoning, that security claims for the system have been met.
– We apply multiple security and related disciplines to develop practical, trustworthy, secure solutions.
– We review acquisition program documents and external policies and provide actionable feedback.
– We support the creation and updating of USCG acquisition cybersecurity policies as needed.

We are SparQ, supporting the U.S. Coast Guard in a high-impact, senior-level role focused on strengthening cybersecurity and program protection across the acquisition enterprise. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC, with on-site presence required three days per week. The role works closely with government stakeholders to embed cybersecurity and program protection principles from program inception through sustainment. We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $140,000 per year and the opportunity to contribute to complex federal missions in a mission-critical environment.
