Founding Team Member – Unmanned Systems Technician

About F-ADA:

F-ADA is a defense tech startup building autonomy software for unmanned systems. We allow end-users to retrain mission-specific AI models in the field, and deploy them on ultra low-cost hardware. We have active contracts with the Department of War and are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team. As a founding team member you will have the opportunity to work on real problems from day one, take on an incredible amount of responsibility in a high ownership environment, and grow with the company as we scale.

Founding Computer Vision and ML Engineer

Build computer vision systems that run at the edge and survive the real world. F-ADA needs production-quality CV for low-cost unmanned systems, not notebook demos.

What they will own

• Build neural networks in PyTorch for object detection, pixel tracking, and related CV tasks.

• Work with convolution-based and transformer-based architectures.

• Design CV algorithms that can run from Raspberry Pi Zero 2 Ws to Jetsons.

• Experiment with data augmentation, training techniques, evaluation, and deployment constraints.

• Improve performance on mission-specific visual data under real field conditions.

Who we are looking for

• Has shipped production-quality CV applications that run on edge devices.

• Knows PyTorch and modern CV architectures deeply enough to make practical tradeoffs.

• Cares about reliability, latency, robustness, and performance under resource constraints.

• Is more engineering-focused than a generic ML researcher.

• Wants models to work for real users, not just benchmarks.
